We will start exploring the lovely wooded canyon, pass by the Franklin Canyon Reservoir, home for a variety of birds journeying on the Pacific Flyway, and plenty of ducks year round. More woodsy trails, and then we go up and traverse parts of Hastain trail, enjoying some expansive views until we drop back down to join another trail in a bit of a loop back through the wooded Canyon, where we will take our break in a lovely clearing before heading towards Heavenly Pond and surroundings before returning to the parking lot.
⏰START TIME: 1 pm. We usually wait 15 - 20 minutes grace, but please try to arrive early. 4:00PM is the estimated end time of the hike.
- DISTANCE: ~ 6 miles for the full route, with an optional 5 mi version with a resting spot on the ascent for those who want an easier option.
- ELEVATION: ~900ft
