We've conquered summits and sand. Now let's conquer the dance floor!

After hiking mountains, strolling beaches, and even fraternizing with trolls, it's time for another kind of adventure! Join hike leaders Dean and Andy as we trade our hiking boots for dancing shoes and head to Rusty's Rhythm Club for a Friday night of live music, swing dancing, and fun!

Did you know that two hours of lively swing dancing can burn as many calories as a 3-mile hike? And this time, the trail comes with a live soundtrack, a wooden dance floor, and a bar! 🍹

Whether you're an experienced dancer, a complete beginner, or simply want to enjoy some terrific live music with friends, there's something for everyone. No partner or previous dancing experience required!

Our destination is Rusty's Rhythm Club, a Los Angeles swing-dancing tradition since 1998, held at the Elks Lodge in Playa del Rey. We'll be treated to live music by Lil' Mo & The Dynaflos, with a beginner-friendly swing lesson to get everyone moving before the band takes the stage.

And remember, the Santa Monica Hiking Club is about more than hiking. From our Summer Soirée and Botanic Garden Adventure to our beach walks and sunset gatherings, some of our best memories happen when we get together and try something new.

So come reconnect with old friends, make some new ones, and let's swing into November together!

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
This is a social event rather than one of our traditional hikes, and everyone is welcome to participate at their own pace. Dance all night, take a few spins around the floor, or simply relax and enjoy the music and company.
Admission is paid individually to Rusty's Rhythm Club and is not collected by the Santa Monica Hiking Club.
