🍝 About Cafe Barbosso
Café BarBosso is a no‑nonsense Italian restaurant in Sarasota where the food is real, the art is alive, and everyone has a story. Opened in 2016 by Sherry and Tom Koski, BarBosso delivers old‑school red‑sauce classics with heart, grit, and a whole lot of personality.

The menu celebrates bold Italian comfort food—slow‑simmered sauces, house‑made pasta, squeaky‑fresh mozzarella, and crave‑worthy pizza—while also leaving room to push boundaries. Chef Shawn brings inventive, flavor‑forward specials to the table, from expertly seared steaks to fresh seafood and creative dishes you won’t find on a typical Italian menu.

Art and music are part of the experience. The walls are alive with rotating artwork, often created live, and local musicians regularly set up outside, turning the front of the restaurant into an energetic, neighborhood scene. Inside, the vibe stays cozy, welcoming, and relaxed—guests choose how they want to experience the night.

At its core, BarBosso is about people. The restaurant has given many local kids their first jobs and a sense of pride, responsibility, and belonging. Many move on—but keep coming back—because once you’re part of BarBosso, you’re family.
