Calling all card lovers and card beginners who would enjoy relaxing, visiting and learning something new.

The plan:
2:15 visit, relax, order food or drinks. There is a big table reserved for us.

2:30 The card lesson will start at this time. If you can’t be on time please cancel and give someone on the wait list a chance- we will meet every other week so we would love to have you next time. We will play a few rounds sometimes it will be a game where we switch who we play and sometimes a whole group game.

3:30 We will take a break to grab drinks and food if you want more or were late getting there. After we can play a game from our repertoire of what we learnt previous weeks, someone can teach something new or continue with the game we learnt - this part will be quite informal and can break into mini groups if different ideas what to play. The table is reserved until 4:15 pm so if you have to go a bit earlier that is fine and if anyone stays later I’m sure we could move to a smaller table.

There is no cost to play BUT I do ask that each player buys a drink and/or food item to support the business who is so graciously reserving a table for us to play. This was no easy task finding a place who would allow us to come in and hangout and play cards so please let’s help support local.

To join you do NOT have to come each time. We all lead busy lives and it isn’t a group where you will miss out if you don’t learn a game - that’s why each time will be a new game. I just ask that if you rsvp you cancel by Friday if you don’t plan on showing up. There is a bit of planning involved in what type of game to teach based on numbers along with reserving tables. Each week the maximum number of players will be 10 due to table space.

This is a special edition of cards and coffee. You MUST have attended at least one cards and coffee to sign up as this will be our Christmas windup as cards and coffee won’t resume until January 7th or 14th. You also MUST buy at least 1 drink or food item (it does not need to be alcoholic but this will be at a bar)

Sports on Tap has confirmed and will let us book one table. Registration for this will open up 14 days before the event.

The plan will be to play ratchet which is a group game that is intermediate in difficulty only because the card game has 4 hands and each round is like it’s own mini game as each round the rules change. However, each round is fairly easy as it features some games we have played before. After that we can play any other card games we like or if the pool table is free we can play some pool.
