Calling all card enthusiasts - expert - beginner- who visit and play.

We will be playing Spades ( bidding whist game that is easy to learn but takes strategy to be good)

*Please read as there are strict rules. Cards require exact numbers of people/ limited space.

1. You must show up on time. 5 min early is best to order.
2. You must order a drink and/or food item to support the business.
3. If you must cancel less than 24 hours before the event text 306-280-2541 with your name and I will cancel you from the event.
4. If you are on the wait list and get moved to going you must contact me ASAP at that number or I will add the next person instead.
5. You must be patient and kind as we all have different skill levels.

Those who break a rule may be removed from future events .

*We have a great mix of regulars and new people. If full join the waitlist as there are likely cancellations during the week. This is a weekly event with new games each week from Nov - April. RSVP goes live at 6 pm Sunday night for the following week to give everyone a fair chance to sign up. We also have bigger events sporadically.

Calling those who want to learn Kaiser (a popular Saskatchewan card game) OR who are VERY rusty and need help relearning Kaiser.

Christy will be teaching how to play and bid in Kaiser (a bidding whist game with few cards so it takes aggressive strategy to win your bid) It is hard to be good at Kaiser but it is easy to play - we will be having a Kaiser Social the following weekend (where it will not be taught) so now is your opportunity to learn a game played by many in Saskatchewan. The Socials are a fun way to meet new people, play cards and pool etc.

Calling those who want to improve and practice Kaiser.

Christy will be teaching how to improve bidding and play in Kaiser. We will be having a Kaiser Social the following weekend (where it will not be taught) so now is your opportunity to practice and meet people before the social.

This is open to all skill levels, though Kaiser will not be taught at this event so you must know the basics. (If you are rusty or new to Kaiser, look for a posting at a later date where I will teach Kaiser).

Please note this is NOT a tournament, but a social so be patient with various skill levels.

1:30-3:00- you will play 2- 45 minute games of Kaiser where experts - intermediate - beginner play at separate tables

330 - 5 :00 you will switch partners every 4 hands and partnerships will be mixed skill levels (so beginners can learn more)

You can show up for both sessions or just 1. See THE PLAN below.

There is no cost to this event EXCEPT you must buy a food AND drink item to support the business who is providing us this great space for FREE. (Parking lot on side, entrance wheelchair accessible and in front of building. Bus route 11) There will be alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks for purchase as well as pub food and snacks. Support local! No outside food and drinks please.

THE PLAN:

12-1:15 pm arrival/ register/eat

When you register you will get a table number for 130-3 pm play and a player number for 330-5 pm play (for those wishing to stay for the second session). It is best to arrive early to register and grab drinks/food and socialize/play pool or cards as if you register late I can NOT guarantee you can play. If numbers don't work you can stay and play cards and eat or go play pool to wait but you will NOT be in the 1:30 pm social.

1:25 - I will make a quick announcement and get people seated at their table.

1:30-2:15 - Play 1 game of Kaiser - +52 or -52 triggers game end (prevents long games as you must bid out to win) As groups finish they have time to grab more food/drinks, socialize, play in the games room, or play another game of Kaiser

2:15-3:00 Play your second game of Kaiser (same as above) with new predetermined partnerships.

3-3:30 - Break for drinks/food/visiting and for registration for those arriving to play just the 2nd half. *Please note if you arrive at this time I can NOT guarantee you can play as it will depend on numbers so it is best to arrive at 3 to register for a better chance to play.

330-5 pm I will make an announcement to organize tables by player number and we will play 4 hands of Kaiser and switch partners based on whist drive rules (will be explained) until time runs out

5:15 pm - Help us stack chairs and put away tables. Thanks :)

*Please note - I do NOT get paid to put this on so please be on time and patient. At worst 3 people may be disappointed they cant play if numbers dont work - so make sure to arrive at the start of registration to ensure that isnt you !
