What we’re about
This is the official Meetup page of the Save Barton Creek Association (SBCA). We protect the creeks and aquifer of the Barton Springs- Edwards Aquifer through conservation, education, and advocacy.
You can learn more about SBCA on our website at www.savebartoncreek.org. You can further connect by signing up for our monthly e-newsletter and liking us on facebook.
We will meet once or twice a month for hikes along the Greenbelt, volunteer opportunities, and educational outings. We also host SBCA Happy Hours the second week of each month. These Happy Hours feature a speaker related to our mission.
We also hope you will join SBCA by contributing to dialogue on our discussion boards.
We look forward to meeting you, whether you're new to Austin or are a life-long Barton Creek enthusiast.

Join Save Barton Creek Association as we support our friends at South Austin Creek Alliance for their celebration of the Roots and Wings Festival!
The Roots & Wings Festival is an annual community-wide celebration of trees, pollinators, and all creatures. The Festival is dedicated to celebrating nature in our neighborhoods, embracing the fundamental concept that we are all connected to each other and to our local ecosystem. Growing these connections creates a stronger, more resilient and healthy community! The Roots & Wings Festival is not one event, it is many, and it is led by the community in neighborhoods all over Austin. Community events feature celebrations of our urban forest ecosystem (trees, butterflies, plants, fungi, soil health, pollinators, birds, bats, and more)! We will be meeting along Williamson Creek at 5305 Meadow Creek Circle, and will have tons of activities for the kiddos, free tree giveaway courtesy of Tree Folks, as well as guided walks along the creek, live music, and much more! There will be a quick pop-up clean-up on the creek from 9-9:45am. The main event is 10am-2pm, and starts promptly at 10am, as there will be an Indigenous American Four Directions blessing by Daniel Llanes, and everyone is encouraged to join in!
Come join the fun with SBCA and SACA! Hope to see you there!
