Come listen to Lindsey Sydow, P.G. (Supervising Hydrogeologist) of Austin Watershed Protection and Kevin Thuesen (Preserve Manager) of Austin Wildlands Conservation, talk about the flood water diversion project that helps recharge the Barton Springs segment of the Edwards Aquifer.

This ambitious project redirects 30% to 50% of flood flows from Little Bear creek into a diversion channel that takes the water into Stoneledge Quarry, a defunct quarry that directly recharges the aquifer. This project increases aquifer storage and enhances flows at Barton Springs.

We are currently in a drought and have not received the rains we normally do. Projects like this are critical to keeping springs flowing locally. A lot of work went into this project and Kevin Thuesen and Lindsey Sidow will speak on all of the hurdles and solutions.

Come anywhere from 6:30 pm to 7 pm to get your food ordered and drinks purchased, and to socialize.

This talk will take place at La Madeleine's restaurant located on Brodie Lane close to the 290 intersection. We will be meeting in a corner sectioned off for us, and we will start the program at 7 pm and after the presentation there will be a time for questions. We will wrap up around 8 pm, but feel free to linger.
