Meeting #42 - Multiagent Systems

Details
Last time we liked actors so much, that we decided to tackle a similar topic next: Multiagent Systems.
We didn't decide on any particular article to read, so I took the liberty of selecting one: Multiagent Systems by Katia Sycara (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~softagents/papers/multiagentsystems.PDF) published in AI Magazine. If you know of any other good articles on the topic, please mention them in the comments.
For the interested, here are some more resources:
A Perspective on Software Agents Research (http://www.csee.umbc.edu/csee/research/aw/introduction/hn-dn-ker99.pdf) - an article that seems to confront the theory of multiagent systems with practice.
MASSIVE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MASSIVE_(software)) - an multiagent system used for rendering crowds, used in many movies including Lord of the Rings.
