Scenic Kayaking Meetup

Scenic Kayaking is a friendly paddling group focused on beautiful kayaking adventures on rivers, lakes, and coastal waters across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maine.

We welcome adults 21 years and older who enjoy scenic paddles, good company, and exploring the waterways of New England. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced paddler, our events are designed to be safe, fun, and memorable.

Membership & Fees
To keep the group running smoothly and cover the increasing costs of organizing events (including Meetup organizer fees), we’ve introduced an annual membership fee of $10 per year.
How It Works:

• If you pay the $10 annual membership, you’ll have unlimited access to events for the remainder of the year with no additional RSVP fees.
• For those who have not yet paid the membership fee, there will be a $10 fee to RSVP and sign up for your first event. Once completed, you’ll have full access for the rest of the year.
• No refunds on membership or RSVP fees.

I accept payment via Venmo or cash. My Venmo is @Heidi-1225  (the heading will show as Heidi sk). As an added safety feature, Venmo will ask you for the last four digits of my phone number (0053) to make sure you send the money to the correct person. Please include your name and “Kayaking Membership” in the note for easy tracking.

New This Season
We’re also adding some exciting changes to our paddling schedule this year. You’ll see more shorter paddles as well as weekday paddles to give everyone more flexibility to join us. Helping others with carrying or portaging their kayak is always welcome!

Important Group Policies:

• Wearing a Coast guard approved PFD on all kayak events is required.
• Minimum Participation for Safety: All paddle events require a minimum number of participants. Events may be canceled if fewer than three people confirm attendance. Final decisions are at the discretion of the event host.
• No Pets: Pets are not allowed on group events.
• No Guests: For insurance and liability reasons, we do not allow unapproved guests. If you’d like to bring someone, please have them join our Meetup group, get approved, and complete the liability release before attending.

ACCIDENT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Participation in any Scenic Kayakers event implies that you have read, understand, and agree with our ACCIDENT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY. Per the Electronic Records and Signatures in Commerce Act, Public Law 106-229 by joining this group, you agree to all the terms listed.
I certify that I am physically fit and prepared for participation in an event and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional.
I acknowledge awareness of the risks, foreseen and unforeseen, which are inherent in each event/activity. These inherent risks include, but are not limited to, serious personal injury, property damage, and death from participation in or travel to and from the event.
Scenic kayakers and its organizers do not, in any way, claim to be professionals or otherwise licensed, certified, trained, etc. to provide any service including emergency medical procedures.
AS A CONDITION OF ATTENDING and JOINING THIS MEETUP, I AGREE to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY (Meet up.com, the Scenic Kayak Meet-up Group, its organizers, co-organizers, assistant organizers, trip leaders and event planners, as well as their families from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from injuries, personal or property, losses, costs, damages, disability or death resulting from participating in or traveling to or from the activity. Kayaking, camping, hiking, bicycling, and other activities pose inherent risks and dangers. It is further understood and agreed that this ACCIDENT WAIVER and RELEASE OF LIABILITY is to be binding on my heirs and assigns. This ACCIDENT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY shall be construed broadly and applied to the maximum extent permissible by law. Participation in these activities is voluntary and dependent upon your own personal judgment. The organizers and event hosts in this group are not trained leaders or instructors. The organizers only set the time and place. Each person participating in any group event is responsible for their own safety. In the interest of safety, consuming alcohol during any Scenic Kayakers event is not allowed. Wearing of Coast guard approved Lifejackets (PFD's) is required when paddling with this group. I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the rules of the event/activity as published on the Scenic Kayakers website.
