Schertz Photography School & Studio offers the following photography educational options:

Seminars:
Experienced photographers teach seminars, which are one-time sessions on a particular topic. We will provide a notepad and pen—you will need them! Titles include "Get out of Auto Mode"—our most popular—"Lenses & Filters", and many more!

Workshops:
Workshops are instructor-led, one-time sessions that focus on a particular topic. Please bring your camera; you will use it! Examples include macro Photography, portrait photography, and photographing the moon.

Field Trips:
Field trips are conducted at the locations where we hold photography classes. These locations make great backdrops for students' hands-on sessions, which last 3-4 hours per session.

Pick from any locations below for your hands-on DSLR photography field trip. Where we will cover Camera Basics, Exposure using the L.I.S.A. concept and practice-M mode
Photo perspectives and creativity, Composition-symmetry, balance, shapes and
Equipment.

You will come away with great shots from any of the below locations and have a great day of photography. ​Driftwood, TX; San Antonio Botanical Garden; San Antonio Missions; San Antonio Riverwalk; Wimberley, TX; Austin, TX; and New Braunfels, TX.

Your Instructor: Victor Watson

Victor is retired from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the United States Army, where he was active in law enforcement at the local, state, military, and federal levels for over 35 years. Mr. Watson has a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education (BSOE). He has an extensive resume, including photography training from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and the Department of Homeland Security. He has attended and provided instruction on forensic and crime scene photography using the photography skill sets required for film and digital single-lens reflex cameras (DSLR). During his last 10 years of public service with DHS, he served as a Senior Instructor, Program Specialist, and Law Enforcement Specialist where he oversaw the basic photography program for all of DHS, led groups of Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies employees engaged in performing digital photography duties related to crime scene photography and spearheaded the development of the Law Enforcement Digital Photography Training Program later renamed Digital Photography for Law Enforcement Level 1. In retirement, Mr. Watson continues actively teaching photography to the private and public safety sectors.
