Join a friendly 5‑mile circular walk taking in the best of the Cotswold escarpment around Birdlip, with big views, peaceful woodland and classic limestone scenery.

Event overview

  • Distance: ~5 miles / 8 km circular
  • Grade: Moderate; a mix of woodland paths, open countryside and a few short but steep slopes.
  • Proposed route: This walk follows well‑used local paths near the Cotswold Way, mixing sections along the dramatic escarpment with quieter inland tracks and field paths. Expect good viewpoints, pockets of ancient woodland and some hilly sections that make the route feel like a proper outing without being extreme.

Expect some mud, so please wear appropriate hiking gear, poles can be advantageous. Please bring a snack and water. Dogs are welcome on leads where livestock is present and on road sections. We'll go to the Royal George for a drink/coffee afterwards.

As always, a £2.50 donation to foodbanks is very welcome. Please PayPal (using Friends and family option) to samlawwhite@gmail.com,cqupting Birdlip.
