About us
Welcome to Our Community!
Our Meetup is built on three pillars: good company, meaningful connections, and fun experiences. Whether you’re here for the craft or the conversation, we keep things lively, welcoming, and low-pressure.
🌟 What We Do
We believe variety is the spice of life. You can expect a calendar full of:
Outdoor Adventures: Beach walks, hiking, and sailing.
Social & Leisure: Happy hours, poolside parties, wineries, and dancing.
Culture & Arts: Movies, concerts, artsy afternoons, and local fairs.
Wellness & Impact: Health and wellness events and community volunteering.
❤️ Our "Good Vibes" Philosophy
We choose venues with heart. Sometimes that means a touch of haute cuisine, and sometimes it means the service is slow or the fries are floppy. We embrace the imperfections—no cliques, no pressure, just great company.
🕊️ The "RSVP" Policy
Please only RSVP to an event if you’re 100% sure you can attend. Your RSVP is not meant to be a placeholder, since our events are small.
Only attend an Event if you have RSVP’d and your status is Attending. It’s your responsibility to check the Event status to be sure there have been no changes to the Event details.
We understand that health and energy can be unpredictable. If you are sick, please stay home.
If your plans change, please update your status as soon as possible, but at least 48-hours in advance to give someone else a chance to attend. If your status is “Attending” and you don’t attend, you will be considered a “no-show”.
No-Show Policy: Two “no-shows” will result in your being placed on the Wait list going forward. You will need to check your status on any event you RSVP for after two no-shows. Please be courteous and not be one of those people who are no-shows.
💳 Membership Details
To keep our community thriving, there is a $20 annual due.
Note: The Meetup platform will automatically remove your membership after the free trial period if dues remain unpaid.

🎄 Get Festive with Clay: Holiday Creations & Finish-Up Session!
Aptos, CA, US🎄 Get Festive with Clay: Holiday Creations & Finish-Up Session!
Tuesday, September 1 · 11:00 AM 📍 Location:Aptos*(Please note: We are meeting in Aptos for this event, NOT in Soquel!)*
Get ready for an extra-fun, creative day as we kick off a brand new season of hand-building together! Whether you're excited to start your holiday crafting early or looking to polish up your recent masterpieces, this session is packed with inspiration and community spirit.
✨ Welcome Newbies! We have a couple of open spots for fresh faces! No prior clay experience is necessary—just bring an enthusiastic attitude and a desire to make something fun. (Clay is available for purchase on-site, so no need to bring your own!)
🎨 What We’re Making & Finishing
• 🎄 New Project: Holiday & Christmas Clay Magic! It's never too early to start crafting festive holiday decor, handmade gifts, ornaments, winter trees, or table accents! Check out the event photo album for inspiration ideas. Have a cool idea of your own? We love new suggestions—bring your photos, sketches, and favorite inspirations to share with the group!
• 🥣 Finishing & Glazing Salad Bowls & Greenware: For those returning from our previous gathering, this is your time to glaze, carve, or wrap up your slab-formed salad bowls, serving utensils, and greenware pieces.
🎒 What to Bring
Holiday Project & Form Setup:
• Foam Cones (for Trees): If you plan to make Christmas trees, a FloraCraft Cone Styrofoam or similar craft foam cone is extremely helpful to use as a slump/hump form! Grab the size and shape you desire on Amazon: Foam Cone on Amazon.• Plastic Wrap: Bring plastic wrap to cover your foam cone before draping clay over it, and to keep works-in-progress moist.
The FloraCraft Cone Styrofoam works as a sturdy, lightweight mold for forming slab clay trees and holiday luminaries.Slab Building & Preparation:
• Paint Strips / Stir Sticks: Pick up wooden paint stir strips (available for free or cheap at Home Depot/hardware stores)—you'll need at least 4. Placing two stacked on each side of your clay guides your rolling pin to create perfectly even slab thickness!
• Clay: Bring your favorite clay body for holiday projects—or buy clay directly at the venue on the day of the event!
• Rolling Pin or Dowel: Essential for rolling out smooth, even slabs.
• Cut-Up Cloth: Old bedsheets, pillowcases, or canvas scraps to roll your slabs on so they don't stick to the table.
• Basic Hand Tools: Bring your favorite basic sculpting and trimming tools. If you need a basic tool set, here is an affordable option: Pottery Tool Set on Amazon.
Glazing & Decoration:
• Glazes & Brushes: Bring your Stroke & Coat underglazes, engobes, or glazes to finish your bisqued salad bowls and greenware.• Holiday Inspiration & Mold Ideas: Bring photos, cookie cutters, textures, stamps, or ideas for holiday builds.
Studio & Community:
• Potluck Lunch Dish: Bring a yummy food item or refreshment to share for our group lunch break!
Come for the clay, stay for the fabulous food and conversation. Let's make some holiday magic together in Aptos! 🌟Picture credit: Jenn L
