Open Board Meeting & Focus Group

Do you have a vision for the future of a vibrant Downtown State College? Well, we have an impactful way for you to share it! The Borough of State College and Downtown State College Improvement District has asked for our input as young professionals for developing a Master Plan for the area.

We have scheduled a focus group session for SCYP members with their consultants on Wednesday, September 9 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. It will meet in Room 220 of the State College Municipal Building (243 South Allen Street, State College) and we will connect with the consultants via Zoom. If you cannot make it in person, a link will be shared with you so you can join virtually. There is space in the Google Form linked below to share your thoughts if you cannot attend.

Possible topics include:

• What is your favorite thing about Downtown State College?
• What brings you Downtown most often?
• Are there things you would like to see (events, retail offerings, etc.) that would bring you Downtown more frequently?
• Is there something preventing you from visiting Downtown more frequently?
• How do you typically get to Downtown State College?
• What improvements to Downtown State College do you feel would make the biggest impact?

The SCYP Board will be holding its meeting there from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. If you are interested in one of our open board positions, please plan to attend. Otherwise, feel free to come early to see what that board is planning for the fall and rest of the year!!
