D&D Classics
Lestat's Coffee House, 3343 Adams Avenue, San Diego, CA, US"To all bold adventurers, past, present, & future... in a world of mystery & magic. In a world of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS"
System: Dungeons & Dragons (1991 Boxed Set) + D&D Expert Set/BECMI
Starting Level: 2 (pre-generated characters available)
Setting: Mystara/Karameikos
Safety: Lines & Veils, Open Table Policy, X/Pause-Card
Files: Google Drive FolderDescription: No prior classic D&D experience required. This is a Basic D&D campaign featuring four dungeons published for basic D&D in the 80s and 90s (Caves of Chaos, Quasqueton, Fighter's Academy, Fortress of the Final Enemy) and a town location where the party can rest and plan their expeditions. There is a secret 5th Dungeon from which the villain plots the destruction of the heroes and their civilization.
The campaign is drop-in- and new-player- friendly as each session will resolve in town and pre-generated characters are available to those unable to prepare a 2nd-level character.
House Rules: When a character dies in-session, they typically lose a level instead so the player may continue participating. A level 1 character that dies or loses a level is dead. There is one in-game week between sessions (non-cleric characters recover 7 HP or twice as much in paid accommodation). Clerical healing services are available.
Logistics: We are typically in the back room of Lestat's on Adams. Accessing the space requires that you go out the back door onto the patio and follow the signage for "additional seating."
