🎟️ Free admission for: City and County of San Diego residents, as well as active-duty military and their dependents, with valid photo ID.

🏛️ About the Museum
Nestled in the historic former chapel of the old Naval Hospital, the Veterans Museum at Balboa Park was founded in 1989 to honor the service of U.S. Armed Forces from the Civil War through to modern deployments.

Its five galleries and main hall, highlighted by stained-glass windows and dramatic war-era murals, display hundreds of artifacts and artworks honoring the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine.

Visitors can explore:
• Historic uniforms, medals, weaponry, maps, and personal memorabilia
• Murals and stained‑glass art depicting pivotal military moments
• Rotating exhibits and educational programming that commemorate veterans’ stories and legacies.

🅿️ Balboa Park offers free parking across eleven lots, and the tram runs regularly within the park.

NOTE: Although the event is listed as ending at 4:00 PM, that is the time the museum closes for the day. I plan to be there until I’ve completed exploring the exhibits with those with me.
