🎷Join us for an evening of great food, good company, and outstanding live jazz at Panama 66 in beautiful Balboa Park! No Cover.🎶
Gilbert Castellanos, one of San Diego’s most respected and beloved jazz trumpeters, is known for his soulful tone, swinging style, and deep commitment to keeping jazz alive and thriving.
His weekly jam session brings together rising “Young Lions” and seasoned professional musicians, creating a high-energy, spontaneous performance.
We’ll begin with dinner at Panama 66, then head into the Copley Auditorium for an intimate jazz experience and one of San Diego’s most beloved weekly traditions.

• Meet at 5:00 PM for dinner at Panama 66
• After dinner, we’ll head into the Copley Auditorium early to find seats together

• Young Lions: 7:00 – 7:50 PM 🦁
• Jam Session: 8:00 – 10:30 PM 🎷
Led by acclaimed trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos, this weekly jam session features rising jazz talent alongside seasoned musicians — every night is different and always exciting!
🍷 Food & Drinks
• Food served: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Bar open: until 10:00 PM
✔️ Food and drinks are allowed inside the auditorium
