🌊🦈 **Swim with the Leopard Sharks – Beach Day at La Jolla Shores!**🦈🌊
Join us for an unforgettable summer afternoon on at beautiful La Jolla Shores! This is one of San Diego’s most unique natural experiences—where you can relax on the sand, enjoy the ocean, and (if conditions are right) swim alongside graceful leopard sharks in their natural habitat.
🦈 Will there be leopard sharks?
Yes—late summer (July through September) is peak season at La Jolla Shores, when thousands of harmless leopard sharks gather in the warm, shallow waters near shore. While nature is never guaranteed, August is one of the best times of the year to see them, especially on warm, calm days near the south end of the beach.

• 🛟 Lifeguard Tower #32
Facing the tower from the parking lot, we’ll be on the left side (see photo section for reference)

• 🌊 Easy Ocean Access – Gentle waves and sandy bottom make this a great spot for wading or snorkeling

• Free parking available in the lot
• Additional street parking nearby (arrive early for best options)
🧺 What to Bring
• Your own food, drinks, and supplies (plates, cups, utensils, etc.)
• Trash bags – please clean up after yourself
• Beach essentials: towels, chairs, blankets, umbrella, sunscreen
• 🤿 Snorkel gear (recommended for best shark viewing!)
• Anything else you need for a comfortable beach day

⚠️ Good to Know About Leopard Sharks
Leopard sharks are completely harmless to humans and are known for their calm behavior. According to Birch Aquarium, respect their space, and they’ll do the same. You may spot them by wading in shallow water or swimming just beyond the breaking waves—often in groups!
