What we're about

SDiOS (San Diego iOS Developers) was founded in 2010 and is now a unified group under CyberTECH (http://cybertechnetwork.org/). SDiOS is dedicated to sharing & learning about app development for Apple iOS devices. Its mission is to bring artists & developers together to create & promote great apps.

Formal SDiOS Meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month (except no formal meetings in December due to holidays). These meetings are normally held at the UCSD Extension, University City - and include educational presentations on a variety of topics from our ICAM theme (Ideas, Coding, Art & Marketing). Some time is available both before & after presentations for professional/social networking. After these meeting some gather informally for dinner/desert/drinks & more socializing at a nearby eatery - usually at the Westfield UTC Red Robin.

Our informal SDiOS Get-Togethers are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month in North County - usually at O'Sullivan's Irish Pub & Restaurant in Carlsbad. These are great fun with lots of professional/social networking.

Ideally SDiOS will facilitate local enthusiasts with diverse skills forming relationships and collaborating on app development projects. Many times those looking for help or to hire find those who are looking for clients or jobs and visa-versa.

Whether you are a professional, hobbyist, beginner or just curious – all are welcome at SDiOS!

La Jolla Village Square

PLEASE NOTE: NEW (FREE) LOCATION - La Jolla Village Square Mall! Dave Shu presents "Automation in iOS Development" You have to wear many hats as an iOS developer. Not only are you the one writing code, you have to test your app and manage your iOS devices yourself. How do you get it all done? With automation! In this talk, Dave will cover how to: • Write XCUITests to tap, swipe, and interact with your app automatically. • Use Apple Configurator 2's command line interface to erase, restore & install files on your iOS device. Dave is a software engineer at ECHO ( https://discover-echo.com/ ), a San Diego based startup that designs and manufactures next generation iOS-based microscopes. The company’s cornerstone product, the Revolve microscope, pushes usability and design further with combined Upright and Inverted functionality and an iPad interface.
