Event Description
Designers empathize, sense systems, and manage people to solve complex challenges with elegant experiences. To do our work well, we need to enhance three superpowers: our abilities to Observe, empathize with people, and sense systems; Reflect, make sense and meaning; and Act, play, prototype, and create while letting go of outcomes and assumptions.
In this session we explore two simple practices for our designer or toolkits that help us better observe, reflect, and act.

Bring a current challenge you're facing. Get ready to interact and experiment. With all materials provided, this brief hands-on workshop lets us sample and experiment with generative listening and problem-solving to design from an emerging future.

About Our Speaker

Arthur Grau
Arthur is an experience designer and people enabler who works with diverse groups to facilitate systems awareness, decision-making, and design. With Verizon, Citi, the U.S. Govt., MIT, and as founder of at250.org, Arthur brings awareness-based practices to bear on design challenges.

He holds a Master’s of Design Innovation (MDes) from MassArt, a BA in Media & Social Change from the University of California, and a certificate in Awareness-Based Systems Change from the Presencing Institute. He believes that every person's inner condition influences the outcomes of the systems they are part of.
