The Search for the Perfect Hot Dog Does a Repeat Visit
Details
Prepare yourselves, fellow seekers of tubular truth! The Search for the Perfect Hot Dog continues with a deliciously promising stop at Bull City Burger and Brewery on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 1:30 pm.
This Durham favorite was founded by the ever-energetic Seth Gross, a graduate of the other CIA—yes, the Culinary Institute of America. Seth set out on a noble mission: to make hot dogs, burgers, and beverages that are far better than the fast-food versions Americans had sadly grown accustomed to. Judging by the crowds, he may be onto something.
Here’s the twist that makes this stop especially intriguing for our hot dog detectives: nearly everything at Bull City Burger and Brewery is made in-house using locally sourced ingredients. Buns, toppings, sides, and brews are crafted with care. The lone exception? Ketchup. (He doesn’t oppose ketchup on hot dogs. He feels Heinz is good.)
Beyond the food, the place has exactly the kind of relaxed, informal atmosphere that encourages lively debate over important matters such as:
Is the snap correct?
Does the bun complement or merely accompany?
Are we closer to the Perfect Hot Dog?
Join us for great food, excellent company, and another chapter in our noble and slightly ridiculous quest. RSVP, bring your appetite, and your finely tuned hot dog judgment. The search continues!
