Details
When: Fri, Sept 19 (afternoon) → Sun, Sept 21 (morning/early afternoon)
Where: Alta Lake State Park, Pateros, WA — two cozy lake front campsites, one big vibe
The vibe: Warm lake days, crisp starry nights, and a camp-crew that can convert s’mores into pure joy. Roll in Friday, swim or paddle till golden hour, then kick back for camp-chair comedy and constellation pointing. Saturday is your full-send lake day. Sunday = slow coffee, one last toe-dip, pack up happy.
Weather snapshot:
- Fri: Plenty of sun, ~89°F daytime, cooling to ~55°F.
- Sat: Sunny and warm again, ~89°F / 57°F.
- Sun: Partly sunny and pleasantly cooler, ~78°F / 47°F.
(See live widget above for updates.)
## Things to do
- Beach & water time: Swim, float, paddleboard, or launch a small craft from the park’s boat ramp. Water-skiers and windsurfers also love this long, narrow lake.
- Short view hike: Trot the park’s little trail (~2 miles) up to a perch overlooking the lake—perfect for sunset or a quick morning leg-stretcher.
- Fishing: Try for trout and seasonal kokanee; fall can see fish moving shallower near tributaries. (License/regs apply.) wdfw.wa.gov+1
- Chill options: Birdwatch, snap photos, read in a hammock, or wander the shoreline. Park amenities include restrooms, showers, picnic areas, and a small store.
## Helpful heads-ups
- Current burn ban: Level 3 — no wood or charcoal fires. Propane stoves and propane fire pits are OK. Plan your camp cuisine + “s’mores” accordingly.
## Cost Share Per Person - $30
## We will be carpooling from Seattle and surrounding areas, if you need a ride
