What we're about

This Meetup is sponsored by Seattle Atheists, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, and is for atheists, agnostics, non-theists, heathens, infidels, freethinkers, secular humanists, brights and any other godless label people might prefer, who need a break from the largely theistic world and want to meet like-minded folks. Dogma-free since 2002!

We foster community, discussion, and socializing, as well as hosting educational events throughout the year.

If you are a student, researcher, or journalist interested in finding atheists to interview, please email Seattle Atheists at info@seattleatheists.org. Please do not attend our Meetup events for this purpose.

Expectations:

1) We expect attendees to be respectful of each other. We don’t allow disruptive or harassing behavior including denying others the opportunity to participate, personal insults, unwanted touching, and failing to ask or warn the group before presenting disturbing graphic material. Religious proselytizing is not allowed.

2) Discussion is encouraged and often includes examining points of disagreement and asking others to support or explain their positions. However, don’t dog-pile on one person nor press a point past fruitful conversation. Stop if the host or fellow attendees ask you to stop. Consider pulling the host aside or sending them a chat if you don’t feel comfortable speaking up. Contact info@seattleatheists.org if you have concerns about an event, a host, or another attendee; these concerns will be handled confidentially.

3) The privacy of all attendees must be maintained, including no photos, no recordings, and no contacting others outside the Meetup unless you’ve both agreed to that contact (except in the case of an actual emergency).

4) Violations of the above may result in the meeting host removing the disruptive or harassing person from an event, and/or in Seattle Atheists banning the person from our Meetup group.
