In-person! Mini-golf, Spiking Neural Networks and Future of ML Hardware
Details
We're so excited to have our first in-person DAML event after a couple years!
Come to Flatstick pub (pioneer square location) to attend the talk, network with industry professionals, eat some tacos, and potentially play a round of mini-golf.
A huge shoutout to Intel for sponsoring!!!
About the talk:
Neuromorphic computing is seen as the next step into mimicking human cognition, extending beyond basic sense and perception of ML systems. Deep learning training and inference is "brittle" due to its dependence on literal, deterministic views.
This talk introduces concepts emerging in neuromorphic computing, including Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) and brain-inspired silicon optimized for SNNs including Intel's own Loihi chip.
Finally, get a preview of next generation GPUs and ASICs for deep learning.
About the Speaker:
Justin Long is both an active technologist and renewable energy investor. Justin has spent nearly two decades in software development in distributed computing and machine learning. Today Justin works at Intel focused on Cloud Technology, Architecture, Sales, and Advocacy. https://www.linkedin.com/in/justinlongfellow/
Event Agenda:
6:00pm - Arriving and networking time
