Online Workshop :: DM/GM 101 & Round-table Discussion

Details
Online workshop event for new and experienced players.
**This is not a gaming event.**
The Seattle Dungeons & Dragons and RPG Meetup is hosting a Dungeon Master/Game Master workshop. This event is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about being a DM/GM, players who want a peek behind the screen, or DM/GM who want to share their knowledge and experience.
While we can focus on D&D, we can open up our discussion topics to other games. That being said, I'm more familiar with D&D 2014 (Legacy).
Possible discussion topics:
Gathering the players - How to find players that match your style, game, theme, etc.
Session Zero - Laying the foundations of your game.
Running the Game - Player types, story sandbox vs. module, world-building from scratch vs. pre-made, miniatures or minimalist. etc.
Round-table:
If you have never DM'd before, this is the perfect opportunity to discuss with other beginner (and veteran) DMs what kind of campaign you'd like to run and determine if you have all you need to run your very first session. We can discuss how to build NPCs, run combat encounters and how to deal with all the crazy ideas that players come up with.
Bring any materials or notes you've put together for your next D&D session and we can share ideas and critique them. Experienced DMs can bring their own materials as well as a reference for newer DMs.

Please keep your RSVP up to date. If you change your plans, update your RSVP.

Our workshops are positive, friendly, and welcoming spaces for all adventurers, regardless of class, race, gender, age, or sexual identity. Any negativity fueled by real-world ignorance, hate, or fear will be met with swift action and possible permanent teleportation to the plane of eternal banishment.
