What we’re about
Green Lake is one of the most popular destinations for urban runnings in the Seattle area. The Seattle Green Lake Running Group was created with the intent of creating a running community that supports and encourages a healthy and active lifestyle through group events and participation. Our goal is to try and have something for everyone and the more runners that attend events the better chance that there will be running buddies for all. Whether you're looking to increase your cardiovascular endurance, meet some new exercise buddies or have training partners for your next race you've come to the right place.
Group Waiver:
I know that running and participating in SGLRG events are potentially hazardous activities. I should not participate in group activities unless I am medically able and properly trained. I assume all risks associated with running and participating in SGLRG events including but not limiting to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather including high heat and/or humidity, the conditions of the road and traffic on the various courses and routes, and such risk being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of your acceptance of my application for membership, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Seattle Green Lake Running Group, and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in these group activities even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the person named in this waiver. I further grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of these events and activities for any legitimate purpose.

See all- Wednesday Night Run @ the Trailhead!Brooks Trailhead, Seattle, WA
Join us at the Wednesday Night Run @ the Trailhead! Each week, we follow one of our scenic (and usually hilly) 4-mile routes. To see where we're running this week, see our route map & schedule here.
We run year-round, in rain or shine, and despite what you see in the RSVP list, we've been averaging ~90 runners a week. First-timers are always welcome, as are any out-of-town visitors looking for a fun group of runners! We try to make sure that everyone arrives safely back to port: many of us know all of the routes, we offer laminated mini route maps, we regroup at a photo stop about halfway, and we usually have sweepers running near the back. In the darker months, be sure to bring your lights & reflective gear!
Pace-wise, our string of runners typically ranges from 7:30 to 10:30 minutes per mile, but we oftentimes have runners outside that range. If you're looking for something a little shorter or longer, or something stroller-friendly, just ask us for some shortcut, add-on, or detour suggestions. On-leash dogs are also welcome. Questions? Just ask! We want your first Wednesday Night Run to be a success!
We start meeting up at 5:20pm at the Brooks Trailhead store at 3400 Stone Way in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood (depending on the weather, we may be inside the store). At 5:35pm, we have introductions, describe the route, and take off. We finish back at the store.
Afterward, most of us head across the street to Fremont Brewing, where we hang out and socialize (it's kid and dog friendly). They have tasty craft beer and cider on tap, as well as some non-alcoholic choices (they have very limited food options, however). They have indoor and covered outdoor seating (heaters when it's cold, misters when it's hot).
If you can't make the 5:30pm run (timing, rest day, injury, whatever), you are definitely welcome to meet us at the brewery. We're usually there by 6:30pm; just look for the runners!
If you need to use the restroom or lockers to store your stuff during the run, the Brooks Trailhead store has both inside. Keep in mind that the store closes at 7pm.
The Wednesday Night Run is also on Strava! Connect with us there, too!

- Saturday Morning Rise & Shine @ GL Run!Greenlake Small Craft Center, Seattle, WA
Every Saturday morning we have a nice tradition of getting together and starting our day with a group run. Each week participants RSVP, post their goal distance and pace in the comments
- to help determine what distances to map
- allows others to see who they can run with of similar distance and pace.
Come find us at 7am every Saturday morning as we organize into distance and pace groups and review the route they are running each week.
Find new training partners, meet new friends, and enjoy the benefits of running with others. Our weekly running routes and plan will be posted below each week, please review the route maps prior to the start of the run. Posting in the comments and arriving on time each will increase your chances of finding others to run.
Thanks for running with us! This event is only as successful as those who show up to support it!
