Seattle Nordic Dance and Music Meetup Group

The class will meet on March 4, 11, 18, and 25. The
teachers will be Harry, Pat, Kelly, and Lisa. We will review
dances taught recently on Fridays or to be taught. You may
request dances as well. Singles and couples are welcome.
We change partners frequently, and anybody can do either
role.
The class is 7-9 pm at the Phinney Neighborhood Center,
6532 Phinney Ave. N, Seattle (the upper, blue building,
Room 1). Take the 5 bus or park in a PNA lot. The cost is
$10 (Skandia members) / $12. We will continue on
Wednesdays through June 17.
Bring clean shoes to change into, with smooth soles and low
flat heels for easy turning.

Skandia's First Friday dance in March will be both live and virtual and will be free! The dance will be held at the Cedar Valley Grange, 20526 52nd Ave W, Lynnwood, WA 98036. So, you can choose to attend in person or via Zoom. No partner required.

Judy and Jerry will teach Norskleitjen, from Föllinge. This lovely dance is a Swedish interpretation of Rørospols. It will be taught at Springdans.

Music will be provided by Hjarta Herring. The Herrings are a popular group that feature singing as well as instrumental music for our listening pleasure.

You may request the Zoom link by sending an email by no later than noon on Friday of the event to events@skandia-folkdance.org. Requesting the link gets your name on the admission list, required to join us.

Masks are now optional for all Skandia events. If you are feeling at all unwell or you know that you’ve been in proximity to someone who has COVID, please stay home and take care of yourself.

For now, attending via Zoom continues to be free with donations accepted.

turning skills and variants of Waltz, Pivot, Schottis, Hambo,
and other lovely couple turning dances, as well as fun
mixers. You are welcome to ask to work on specific dances.

flat heels for easy turning. If you don't have dance shoes, we
have dance socks to help you turn easily. Show up any time;
no need to pre-register.
