First Friday Nordic dance hosted by Skandia Folkdance Society
Details
Skandia's First Friday dance in January will be both live and virtual and will be free! The dance will be held at the Cedar Valley Grange, 20526 52nd Ave W, Lynnwood, WA 98036. So, you can choose to attend in person or via Zoom. No partner required.
Let's keep the wintry cold and damp away by dancing to great music played by an assemblage of Skandia allspel musicians.
Location: Cedar Valley Grange, 20526 52nd Ave W, Lynnwood, WA
Times: Teaching, 7:30-8:30 pm. Dance, 8:30-10:30 pm
Free for EVERYONE! This is ALL-COMERS night! Now an annual event, it is
an opportunity for musicians who want to play to join the fun, and it is a free night for dancers - no entrance fee at the door! It is always a super fun evening, and we hope you will come to experience the energy.
Harry Khamis and Pat Pi will teach Sick Sack Schottis, a fun schottis from Hede in Sweden with an interesting pattern. The music is slow and lilting and the figures include a "zig zag" pattern (sick sack = zig zag in Swedish).
You can always find the latest details by going to Skandia's website at http://skandia-folkdance.org.
**You may request the Zoom link by sending an email by no later than noon on Friday of the event to events@skandia-folkdance.org.** Requesting the link gets your name on the admission list, required to join us.
Masks are now optional for all Skandia events. If you are feeling at all unwell or you know that you’ve been in proximity to someone who has COVID, please stay home and take care of yourself.
For now, attending via Zoom continues to be free with donations accepted.
