The band will be Allemans Katt, a family trio of fiddle, nyckelharpa, and guitar from Portland, Oregon, in their debut performance at a Skandia Friday dance. The band’s name comes from a former medieval cellar pub
in Stockholm’s Gamla Stan (Old Town). Trio members are Kim Majors and her daughters Michelle and Molly, who play regularly in the Portland area for dances and other events in the Scandinavian community.
7:30–10:30 pm., Cedar Valley Grange, 20526 52nd Ave W, Lynnwood, WA. $15; $10 for Skandia members. Info: www.skandia-folkdance.org.
**You may request the Zoom link by sending an email by no later than noon on Friday to events@skandia-folkdance.org.** Requesting the link gets your name on the admission list, required to join us.
Masks are now optional for all Skandia events. If you are feeling at all unwell or you know that you’ve been in proximity to someone who has COVID, please stay home and take care of yourself.
Note that First and Third Friday dances are paid events ($10 for members, $15 for non-members) although Skandia's policy is that first-timers can attend for free. For now, attending via Zoom continues to be free with donations accepted.
