### What is the purpose of this group?
Seattle Social Art Collective is a community-driven gathering space for people who want to experience art socially — not just view it.
Hosted in collaboration with Gallery B612 in Seattle’s Pioneer Square and SoDo districts, this group brings together artists, creatives, collectors, and curious minds through:
- Hands-on workshops
- ️ Social painting nights
- ️ Artist talks & creative dialogues
- Pioneer Square Art Walk gatherings
- Dance performances & interdisciplinary showcases
- Special themed pop-ups & cultural events
Our purpose is simple:

Artistic Direction & Live Dance Performance by MiYoung Seul MargolisPresented by Gallery B612 as an extension from the Seattle Art Fair programming: a duet between Kyung Mug Park and MiYoung Margolis, centered on live painting and movement.
Korean Rhapsody: Sijo — A Love Letter was originally developed as part of Gallery B612’s Korean Cultural Week program during Seattle Art Fair week, supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle.
This special post–Seattle Art Fair presentation at Art Love Salon continues the project as an intimate interdisciplinary performance featuring live painting, Korean poetry, movement, and contemporary visual storytelling.
Contemporary artist KyoungMug Park (박경묵) will paint live on a long silk fan, while Korean-American artist, choreographer, and dancer MiYoung Seul Margolis (설미영) responds through lyrical movement.
Together, they transform the space into a living composition where brush, body, and poetry unfold in real time.
Blending Korean poetry, calligraphic gesture, movement, and contemporary visual art, the performance explores longing, elegance, humor, and the quiet emotional power held within Korean traditional aesthetics.Following the performance, guests are invited to stay for an artist talk with KyoungMug Park and MiYoung Seul Margolis.
Inspired by Sijo, a traditional Korean poetic form known for its musical rhythm, emotional restraint, and subtle turn of thought, the performance draws from the celebrated poem Cheongsan-ri Byeokgyesu-ya by legendary poet Hwang Jini, also known as Myeongwol, meaning “Bright Moon.”
At the heart of the performance is Hwang Jini’s poem:청산리 벽계수야 수이 감을 자랑 마라
일도창해하면 다시 오기 어려우니
명월이 만공산하니 쉬어 간들 어떠리Blue stream in the green mountain, do not boast of flowing swiftly. Once you reach the wide sea, it is hard to return. The bright moon fills the empty mountain — why not rest here awhile?
