About this talk
I'm an artist, but for a while now I've also had an interest in learning to code. It's an empowering skill to have - particularly for anyone who works in games - but trying to approach the subject as an artist has been especially challenging, and a point of view that is not often represented in documentation and other learning material. After years of false starts I've finally started to make progress on this journey and feel confident in the skills I'm building - and if I can do it, I'm sure you can too! In this presentation, I share what my path has looked like so far, the things that have helped unblock my progress, and a couple pitfalls to avoid.

PublicDisplay.Arts is next to Target on Union St. parking is available in the Target parking garage or there are other public garages nearby on 2nd Ave.

Accessibility information:
The venue is wheelchair accessible. It is a couple of blocks from the 3rd and Pike/Pine bus stop and Westlake Station. It is a secure building, we will have someone in the lobby until 7pm to let you up in. Message @admin on Discord if you show up later than 7 and someone will come down let you in.
