Welcome! This is a monthly book club devoted to the mystery novel.
We have been meeting since 2009 and have a solid core group. You will find our discussions passionate and opinionated, but never dull! If you're looking for a place to geek out and share your obsession with mystery fiction, you've found your home! If you're new to mystery fiction, we are thrilled to introduce you to authors in our favorite genre!
We are now 100% virtual
Prior to the pandemic we met monthly in a local Seattle pub. We moved to Zoom during the pandemic and decided to stay virtual. We can now have members from all over the world. Please note our time zone for events is Pacific Time Zone
When we meet
The last Sunday of every month 4:30PM-6:00PM Pacific Time.
- Please make sure that time works for you before joining the group.
- Events are announced each month and we ask that you keep your RSVP current.
- Event announcements will include the Zoom link as well as the titles of that month's books.

We read two books a month. If you can't get to both books, you are welcome to attend having read just one. Most readers get through two books, since mystery fiction readers are voracious readers! UPDATE 2024: we are also reading a short story each month!
Attendance Expectations:
- All new members are required to attend their first meetup within 2 months of joining the group.
- Ongoing members should plan on attending at least 6 out of 12 meetings a year. This group relies on participation of an active membership.
Please only request membership if you are able to attend regularly. This is necessary for building a strong core group, group cohesion and safe discussions.
Dues: I don't collect dues. However, twice a year I do ask for donations from members. Meetup charges me twice a year, and Zoom charges me monthly.
As long as donations cover the cost, then there won't need to be any more formal collection system! I let everyone know ahead of time the donation dates.
