Climb, bike, fish, hike, and camp outside in Leavenworth, WA for the Oct 2-3 Oktoberfest weekend!
This meetup event is for folks who want to be in Leavenworth WA for Oktoberfest weekend, who want to climb and bike during the day, in one of the regions best venues for outdoor climbing, hiking, and biking! In the evening you can meander into town to participate in Oktoberfest festivities! I own a small piece of property on Icicle Road, where I will offer you free low-profile car-camp or tent camp Friday and Saturday night to support your weekend. If you already have a spot at 8-Mile Campground, thats rad, you can still show up for social and potluck. My property has running water, and a bit of electricity, four burner propane stove, and very poor cell service. I do not have a public toilet, so this will be something you have to plan around, however I do have a porti-potti for true emergencies, so that will be somewhere.
Agenda:
During the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you do your thing! Climbing, hiking, biking, fishing, whatever. I won't be guiding anyone, I'll also just be doing my thing, depending on the actual weather.
In the evenings, we can hang out a bit before it gets too cold and retire for the night. I have neighbors, we have to keep it very quiet and low key. I will have at least one large Canopy Tent. BYOB. Bring your own camp chairs. Specifically agenda, however -->
Friday afternoon/evening: Welcome for folks coming over Friday after work. Show you around. Might go into town to sample Oktoberfest as the Fridays tend to be far fewer people. Traditional Bavarian dress is optional!
Saturday evening: Leavenworth will be absolutely mobbed with tourists unless its dumping rain, so instead plan to do a camping potluck with everyone on Saturday evening. We can mix-and-match beer tasting. I have a propane 4-burner stove you can use to re-heat or prepare your offering! I am not sure we can use a grill, we have to see what the fire hazard is.
Sunday morning: Leisurely morning coffee, plan the day, and slowly Pack up. I might be around part of Sunday but I am not offering my property for camping Sunday night.
Space is limited, mostly by the size of my property.
