# Rock & Rails - Niwot

Before the Covid hit Colorado, we used to go to Niwot practically every Thursday. Damn we missed the LONG RUN. We ought to look at the Rebecca Folsom concert. I have no idea how many times I’ve been to one of her concerts. The one at Carbondale Park was sensational!

August 20: Headlining Band: Steely Dead / Steely Dan + Grateful Dead / Opening Act: Foggy Mountain Spaceship. I’m sure everyone knows that Steely Dead are a cover band for Grateful Dead and Steely Dan.

I’m more interested in the FOGGY MOUNTAIN SPACESHIP! Foggy Mountain Spaceship features Chris Elliott on Banjo, Chris Sheldon on the Banjo Tron Acoustical 2000™, and Kyle Ussery on Bass. The band performs original compositions, unexpected covers, psychedelic instrumentals and more. Find us on social media and come catch a show!

Niwot’s FREE summer concert series runs every Thursday night, June through August, in Whistle Stop Park. Let’s meet at the THE OLD OAK at around 4:30 PM then proceed to the park.

Schedule
5:00 – 6:00: Happy Hour in the park, with drink specials and Opening Music

Things to Know Before You Go:
They do have a strict alcohol policy

NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED IN THE PARK.
Personal bags and coolers are screened at the entrance gate. We will ask that you dispose of all outside alcohol or return it to your car before entering the park. You are allowed to bring a lunch or munchies into the park
No alcohol is allowed to leave the enclosed area of Whistle Stop Park. No alcohol is allowed to cross-over the road to the Children’s Park. All alcohol must be disposed of before leaving the enclosed area of Whistle Stop Park.

NO ANIMALS ALLOWED, with the exception of service dogs. Rock & Rails is loud and crowded and is not the best choice for pets.

A variety of food trucks and local beer vendors serve Rock & Rails patrons so bring cash for easy purchasing.
Portable chairs and blankets are allowed. Please be kind and respectful to your neighbors and to the park.

I’ll bring a Colorado State Flag so you can locate me in case you’re late!
