Secular People in New Jersey

This group, as the name implies, is for secular people in New Jersey. One of the frequent issues cited by secular people is the lack of opportunity for community. This group is trying to help change that and help you find people like you and to create that community.

What does secular mean? You describe yourself as non religious, meaning you're an atheist, agnostic, Humanist, or just don't believe in a deity. You believe that the world is governed by natural laws that humanity has and is discovering through science and the scientific method. You don't think that the world is explained by supernatural or metaphysical phenomena.

The world, or at least meetup, seems to be becoming a more religious place, even though polls indicate that there are more and more people who identify as non religious (though not that they don't believe in a deity). Religions give many opportunities for their members to gather, find others, and establish relationships, and even gather together for activities beyond their worship.

As a secular person myself, I want to counter the seemingly growing religiousity. In pursuit of that, I will be sharing local events for secular people. I will probably not be hosting any soon, but I will probably be attending many of the events that I post. Hopefully, you will participate and attend those events too.
