When you're in the middle of changing, you lose the map.

The old rules — the ones that kept you safe, that told you who you were and how to show up — don't apply anymore. And the new ones haven't fully formed yet.

So you do what feels logical: you try to control the process. You overthink. You wait for certainty. You manage every variable except the one that matters most — your own trust in yourself.

The hardest part of becoming someone new isn't the change itself. It's learning to trust a version of you that doesn't have a track record yet. A version that's still emerging. That you can't fully see.

And so you hold on tighter. You plan more. You wait for proof that it's safe to let go.

But control and trust can't occupy the same space. At some point, you have to choose.

In this session, we'll explore what it means to stop outsourcing that trust — to outcomes, to other people's approval, to proof that you're ready — and start building it from the inside.

Because the person you're becoming doesn't need you to have it all figured out. She just needs you to stop abandoning her every time it gets uncomfortable.

This is the third session in Permission to Change: A Series on Identity & Becoming — a 4-part series for deep thinkers who are ready to stop waiting and start becoming.

Each session stands alone, so jump in wherever feels most relevant.
Your unexpressed self is waiting. It's time to let it speak.

### ✍️ What we'll explore together:

  • What you're trying to control — and what that control is really protecting you from
  • Why trust feels so much more dangerous than certainty
  • What it actually looks like to choose trust over control in your daily life

### What we'll do:

  • Guided Journaling to identify where control is showing up in your life and what it's costing you

  • Guided Visualization to experience the shift.

  • Real Conversation about the moments we each grip tighter instead of letting go — and what it would mean to finally release

### Why it matters:

Control gives us the illusion of safety. But when we're in the middle of becoming someone new — without a roadmap, without external validation, without proof that it's going to work — control keeps us stuck in the old version of ourselves. Trust is what moves us forward. This session is about making that trade consciously, not out of desperation but out of intention.

### This is for you if:

  • You're in the middle of a transition and can't seem to fully let go of how things used to be
  • You keep waiting for certainty before you allow yourself to move forward
  • You know what you need to do but keep managing, planning and preparing instead of acting
  • You're ready to stop waiting for proof and start trusting the process of becoming

### This isn't for you if:

  • You're not ready to examine your relationship with control
  • You want a step-by-step plan that removes all uncertainty
  • You're still convinced that having all the answers is the same as being ready

Come live if you can — this is where the shift from controlling to trusting begins. This might be the session where you finally realize: you were never waiting for the right moment. You were waiting for permission to trust yourself.
