What we're about

We here, at Self Discovery Center, have a simple goal. It is to share our love and our passion for healing with those who seek to grow spiritually. We believe in teaching from a place of experience and using the tools we have gathered along our respective journeys to help empower others to find their own gifts, talents, passion, and voice. From this place of self-knowing you will find the ability to diffuse your personal truth into everyday life; thus integrating your spirituality and creating wisdom, transformation, and self-mastery.

A Meeting Place and a Center for Health Wellness and Spiritual Education

The Self-Discovery Center of Atlanta also offers a compelling range of activities and retreats including yoga, breath-work, meditation hypnotherapy natural clinical medicine, massage therapy, and Reiki.

The Center also hosts small gatherings for diverse activities including concerts and recitals, readings, dance, private parties, board meetings, and film showings. Meet others who are interested in the topic of self-discovery. Participate in a variety of activities that focus on gaining insights into one's true self by taking one of our spiritual education courses.

Heart Chakra Meditation | Sound Meditation To Find Love In All Forms

Needs a location

Heart Opening Chakra Meditation: Sanskrit chanting is a beautiful treasure that is available for all. Through the ancient sound we heal.

## About this event

When chanting we seek for our hearts to open in compassion for the pain in our hearts and in the hearts of all sentient beings. "In the divine power of the wisdom of compassion, may the wonder of mercy and forgiveness make my heart free from all guilt, from deepest insight into the causes of suffering in this world.".

Sanskrit chanting is a beautiful treasure that is available for all. Through the sounds there is the opportunity to understand that state of freedom that is there always, but which we forget. So bring your voices and spend an enchanted hour filling your hearts with sacred chants. Classic Indian instruments, such as the harmonium and drum accompany the chant, while simple Sanskrit mantras are repeated in a call-and-response building in energy and tempo. This is the practice of Bhakti yoga. The essence of Bhakti Yoga is to reconnect with our fundamental essence of existence - to love and to be loved. Bhakti Yoga is about self-development - being the change we want to see in the world, cultivating compassion, making this world a better place, finding peace of mind and deeper purpose in life. Kirtan, chanting Music is the language of the heart. Through music, we connect with the essence of our being.

Yoga Wisdom Series & Meditation - The Happiness Formula

Needs a location

$10.00

Try something different this Friday evening - Explore the world hidden in the ancient yoga texts for means for lasting happiness and wellbeing. A different angle for the same old problems that may perplex us. A higher angle of vision to give ourselves a better perspective on our challenges. Build a deeper, more grounded sense of compassion for yourself and those around you. Perhaps the world as we experience it, may change as we change our inner environment.

Our pursuit for happiness has us dreaming and working really hard - How do we address the natural hankering of the soul for eternal, uninterrupted happiness in the contemporary world?
Connected by so many devices and networks - have you ever felt disconnected in this world?
Have you ever wondered how to deal with stress and anxiety in a holistic lasting manner?
Have you ever asked yourself why do bad things happen to good people?
For all this and more, join us this Friday at 6.30 pm.

What to expect: The evening will start with introductions and brief musical meditation. Every evening has a different themed discussion that starts with a presentation and followed by interactive discussion and questions and answers section. The presentation explores and brings to life the ancient knowledge of yoga texts like Bhagavad Gita and how they apply to our lives. Some quotes are shown in images attached. The discussion is wrapped up with a musical meditation with our kirtan band. We serve vegan dinner or vegan snacks towards the end of the evening and our participants get a chance to dine together and build our own network of spiritually minded friends.
Some videos of group meditation attached for you to get a feel.
About the speaker: Mangal-arti has been studying and teaching the ancient yoga texts for over 20 years. She has been facilitating such discussions at several universities in US and Canada and helped many to apply these yoga practices in their lives.
