[About this event]
Are you familiar with the Japanese word "Solo-katsu" (ソロ活)? It means actively choosing to do activities alone and fully enjoying your own company—whether it’s dining, traveling, or even going to amusement parks!
In this event, after a fun icebreaker to see your "Solo-katsu level," we will dive into a group discussion.
Here are the 3 main questions we will explore together:
- What are the pros and cons of Solo-katsu? (When do you feel the ultimate freedom, and do you ever feel lonely or face any challenges?)
- How is "doing things alone" perceived in your home country? (Is it common to eat out or travel by yourself? How do people around you look at it?)
- Do you think Solo-katsu will increase in the future? (With more single-person services like solo-karaoke or individual booths in Japan, how do you see this trend changing our society?)
Whether you are a solo-master or prefer being with friends, let’s share our thoughts and enjoy a fun cultural exchange in Japanese!

【About the organizer】
I am a graduate of the University of Tokyo (Faculty of Law) and serve as a mentor for those who wish to explore Japan through the lens of Liberal Arts. Rather than just focusing on language acquisition, I help advanced learners "decipher" the complex layers of Japanese society, economy, and history.
In this session, I will act as a resource and a catalyst for deep analysis, helping you connect the dots between modern phenomena and their structural roots.

「ソロ活」は、ラーメンを一人で食べたり、一人で旅行に行ったり、「一人（ひとり）の時間を楽しむ活動（かつどう）」のことです。
このイベントでは、みんなで「ソロ活」について日本語で話します。 「私は一人で焼き肉に行けます！」「私の国では、一人の行動（こうどう）は珍（めずら）しいです」など、みなさんの経験（けいけん）や意見（いけん）を自由に教えてください。
