Mature Singles Connections: Fun Gatherings

Join us on Saturday, 4/25, let’s have some fun and walk to the Berkeley Rose Garden! (This walk can accommodate a fairly large group of Mature Single nature and walking enthusiasts, so feel free to sign up if you do have the time available on Saturday morning.)

Destination: Berkeley Rose Garden
Start: 10:30 on the sidewalk at Vine Street between 2120 Vine and the corner of Walnut and Vine Streets where Pete’s Coffee is. (We don’t want to block Pete’s entrance)

Schedule:
10:00 - With this option, you can find parking in the neighborhood and stop at the Cheeseboard Bakery or Pete’s first if you like.
10:20. - Meet on Vine Street outside 2120 Vine and up to the corner of Walnut and Vine Streets where Pete’s Coffee is. (We don’t want to block Pete’s entrance if we have a larger group.)
10:30- We’ll start walking up Vine Street to Euclid at a leisurely pace, heading to the rose garden. There are some steep inclines including the Vine Lane Path steps.
11:00 - We’ll already be in the rose garden exploring, chatting, and getting some good exercise by walking up and down all of those stairs. This is a chance to smell the roses, see friends, and welcome some newer members into the conversation. (You have the option to meet us at the garden at 11:00 if you’re not up for the whole walk.)
11:45 - At approximately 11:45, due to 2 hour parking in the area, we’ll return the way we came and should be back by 12:00.
(You are welcome to bring one guest if you wish. No dogs please.)

The Route:
Walk up Vine Street starting from Walnut. At Hawthorne, take the Vine Lane Path up to Euclid. Turn left on Euclid and walk to the Berkeley Rose Garden.

This week we are meeting at Espresso Roma Cafe in Berkeley. There are a few picnic tables on the side of the cafe that can accommodate about 24 people. When facing the cafe they are on the left side in the grassy area, This is where we will be meeting. In order to keep it to 24 people do not attend if you are on the waitlist as this is causing the crowd to get too large. If you show up and are not on the going list you will be asked to leave or sit somewhere else. Three no shows will get you removed from the group so please change your RSVP if you cannot make it and give someone on the waitlist a chance to come. Please don’t do this at the last minute unless it’s an emergency. We will be posting the coffee meetups month by month to give more of the newcomers a chance to sign up and get a spot. Moving forward we will talk to the owners about providing enough chairs for the long tables and not just the smaller ones. There do not seem to be enough chairs at the long tables and moving the chairs from the smaller ones was causing a problem since then other patrons were not able to sit down at the smaller tables. 10 people will initially be allowed to sign up and then we will attempt to balance the group by gender to 24 attendees.
