About us
Welcome to the Reading-Berks D&D Adventurers Guild! The initial goal of this group will be to establish a standing D&D 5e game (or multiple). As we gain members with the proper knowledge, I'd love to see us branch out into Pathfinder, Daggerheart, Monster of the Week, Star Trek... any TTRPG game system really.
Our group (and all of our games) are open to beginners. Game Masters are more than willing to help you learn. We will also post Learn to Play sessions semi-regularly. If a particular campaign has already been running for several sessions, it will be up to the discretion of the Game Master to decide whether it is OK for you to join late.

D&D One-Shot Adventure
·OnlineOnlineWelcome brave adventurer! This is a series of Monthly One Shot adventures. Some are official D&D modules, some are 3rd party, and some are fully homebrew.
I prefer that you use 2024 rules for character creation, but don't fret! This doesn't rule out the use of 2014 races/subclasses/backgrounds. There's a very simple procedure to convert 2014 to 2024 (found in the 2024 PHB). I will be more than happy to teach you how. Milestone Leveling, No Encumbrance, Ignore Coin Weight. Standard Array or Point Buy for Abilities. Magic Items will be approved on a session-by-session basis.
CHARACTER LEVEL FOR EACH SESSION WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN DISCORD, STARTING THE WEEK BEFORE THE SESSION.
Character Creation
- Create a character using D&D Beyond.
- Official D&D 5.5E (2024) Core and Expanded Rules (This includes using retconned 2014 content as described in the 2024 Players Handbook).
- Point Buy or Standard Array for Ability Scores.
If you're new to character creation, just message me and I will help you through it. We'll use D&D Beyond for this.
What you need:
- A computer or tablet (It's possible to use a phone, but far from ideal)
- Some sort of headset (Earbuds with a build in mic are fine)
- A free Discord account
- A free D&D Beyond account
- A web browser of your choice (We'll either be using the D&D Beyond VTT or Owlbear Rodeo)

The Arena - An All-Combat D&D One-Shot
·OnlineOnlineYou fall asleep in your bed one night but are suddenly awakened by the roars of thousands of bloodthirsty voices. You realize you are no longer cozy in your bed. You are in the center of a grand arena, and there is only one way out: FIGHT.
Arena Combat will be broken down into 3 distinct rounds. The first round is kind of a warm-up round, and you will receive a Short Rest between Rounds 1 and 2. THERE WILL BE NO REST BETWEEN ROUNDS 2 and 3!
This will be a very combat forward session with minimal role-play.
Character Creation
- Bring your broken-est builds!
- Any/All official DnD (5E (2014)/5.5E (2024) and official Partnered Content is welcome! Homebrew races/classes/subclasses will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Ability Scores can be Point Buy, Standard Array, or Rolled (4d6, drop lowest).
- CHARACTER LEVEL WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN DISCORD A WEEK BEFORE THE SESSION. MAGIC ITEM ALLOWANCES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE SAME TIME.
What you need:
- A free Discord account.
- A free Beyond account.
- A tablet or computer (something capable of running the Discord voice chat, your character sheet, and the battle map at the same time. People have been able to do this with phones in the past, but it's not ideal).
- Some kind of headset (If you use a headset or earbuds for phone calls and no one complains, they are probably fine).
