About us
An Orange County-based study and discussion group covering some of the chewier topics in Esotericism, Occultism, Western Hermeticism, and Ceremonial Magick, as well as much else. This group is intended as a forum to take a deeper dives into topics surrounding magic and spirituality, making at least an attempt to approach such topics seriously and with an emphasis on scholarship and practice.
Meetings will be begin with a guided meditation, then short(ish) lecture on a chosen topic and group discussion. Each meeting will also include a ritual at the end, so that we are not just talking but actually creating opportunities to do actual magic and flex our theurgic and thaumaturgic muscles.
I do not claim to be a master magus, eldritch witch, or adept of the higher mysteries, I am just some guy. I have some experience in initiatic traditions and group and solo practice, and there are a number of subjects I fell well-qualified to speak on. I am also quite eager to learn from others and encourage anyone with their own topics, lectures, and subjects for discussion to share and contribute.
Initially & intermittently, meeting will be online, but I would like to find a space for in-person meetings if I can and if people are interested.

Working with Solomonic Pentacles
·OnlineOnlineWant to learn how to work with one of the most reliable forms of magic? Ever wonder how to turn invisible, or create your own magical carpet? What about controling all the waters, or opening every door no matter how tight it's locked?
Well, I have good news! You can do that and so much more and it's really easy... it's just gonna require a lot of praying.
This inaugural discussion will focus on the Greater Key of Solomon and working with Solomonic pentacles, including a demonstration of how you can do it yourself. Solomonic Pentacles are one of those topics that may seem inaccessible or overwhelming at first, but are one of the simplest ways to work magic effectively. This will also serve as a demonstration of the 'mechanics' of magic, examining some of the underlying principles of the Solomonic method and how they may be applied to other magical systems.
Esoterica's History of the Solomonic Magic (Note this lecture also covers the Lesser Key and Goetic practices, which I will not be demonstrating at this time)
Intermediate level explainer on working with the Solomonic Pentacles
information for the Lecture will also be drawn from David Rankine's Claves Intelligentiarum
Please note that this discussion will be covering a heavily Christianized and Abrahamic form of magic, although not one that requires affirmation of Christian belief. Although open discussion is encouraged, this discussion is not intended to either evangelize Christian belief or to condemn it, rather simply analyzing a form of magic that developed out of a Christian background. (and more importantly, getting results from magic)

Chaos Magick
Location not specified yetChaos Magick
is it a revolutionary paradigm for cool Postmodern laddies? or is it kinda just overhyped edgelord nonsense where you're summoning Naruto characters and acting like it's profound magic. or both? (spoiler- it's probably both)
whatever you may have heard, Chaos Magick is actually pretty cool and can serve as both a great starting practice or a lifetime pursuit that can take you wild places other traditions can't. this meeting will discuss the history of Chaos Magick and it's punk-rock origins, along with some of the works of Chaos OGs Peter Carroll and Phil Hine. there will also be a discussion of sigilisation and creation of servitors, two relatively simple techniques often associated with Chaos Magic
Excellent, Modern Overview of Chaos Magic
suggested (but not required) reading includes Liber Null & Psychonaut by Peter Carroll, a work that has become somewhat dated but still serves as a powerful and sometimes shocking introduction

Money Magic
Location not specified yetWe all like money. Or, to be honest, a lot of us hate money but are also sick of not having it. Building on some concepts from the Solomonic Pentacles and Chaos Magick lectures, this meeting will serve as an introduction to workable forms of money magic for beginners, advanced beginners, and expert beginners. We will also discuss pro-tips and variant techniques for making them more effective, as well as reasons spells like these may not initially work and what you can do.
A simple and nifty money jar spell from Ariel Gatoga
Simple, botanica-style money smudge with components you can get at a market
