Welcome to the Service Designers League,.
We welcome designers of all stripes -- practitioners, aspirants & people just interested in the craft and practice of interaction & service design -- to join us for our events. After being away for many years, we're going to spend 2024 trying to reconnect through our quarterly Strategic Design Book Club series we're planning, as well as a few other fun events.
We also serve as the Portland (Oregon) chapter of the international Interaction Design Association (IxDA).
Who should join? If you're an interaction designer, service design enthusiast, system thinker, strategist, policymaker, or a community-driven innovator, you're our kind of person! We're particularly keen on nurturing a community where tech-savvy minds meet real-world challenges.
Our meetups will orbit around:
- Exploring Service Design: Unlocking the tools and tactics that help design seamless, meaningful services.
- Civil Cartography: Venturing into the realm of mapping interactions between people, tech, and systems.
- Policy and Strategy: Melding design thinking with policy-making to drive ethical, user-centered solutions.
- Community Engagement: Teaming up with local non-profits to apply service design & its impact
