Don’t let the Gen Z origin story fool you—Die Spitz sound like they’ve been melting faces for decades. Formed by four lifelong friends after watching The Dirt, this Austin-based band channels Black Sabbath heaviness, PJ Harvey bite, and classic metal grit into something that’s fully their own. Their new album Something to Consume isn’t punk or indie—it’s capital-M Metal with lyrics that cut hard and deep.

> “Die Spitz don’t play shows—they erupt.” – Austin Chronicle

  • 🔹 Who They Are: West Coast lifers channeling feedback, blues, and shoegaze gloom into something loud, moody, and totally locked in.
  • 🔹 If You Like: The Raveonettes, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Black Angels, Spiritualized
  • 🔹 Essential Track: “Whatever Happened to My Rock ‘n’ Roll” — urgent, snarling, and still hits like a first cigarette.
  • 🔹 Must-Listen Album: Howl — their dusty, gospel-tinged detour into Americana that still broods under all that reverb.
  • 🎤 Why This Show? If you want your rock & roll loud, shadowy, and a little dangerous, this is your Sunday ritual.
  • 📍 Meetup Plan: Meet at Pony Up at 6:30 PM for whiskey and whispers before descending into the fuzz at Summit.
  • 🎟️ Tickets: $30 @Live Nation/Marquis – grab one before the pit kids do

🚨 Heads up—This MAY be a DIY event
I'm likely not able to attend this as host since this is my bday weekend, but I still wanted to give y'all a platform to easily coordinate. If you're planning to go and want to roll with a crew, RSVP and plan to make it your own using the comments to coordinate.

Q: What's the RSVP policy?
A: RSVP etiquette is crucial! No-shows can throw off the vibe of the event, so we kindly ask that you shoot the host a message or un-RSVP before the event starts if you can't make it. Two no-shows may result in removal from the group.

Q: How can I support?
A: Did you know that your humble organizers pay about $360 a year to bring events to you on Meetup? A tiny annual donation from you is all it takes to keep the events coming. Suggested donation is $5/event or $20 for unlimited events. Just send a Venmo/Paypal to me @mandirao (or ask me for Zelle). Couldn't do it without you!
