Canary Continuous Delivery with Istio and Codefresh

Details
Continuous Delivery requires everything to work together like clockwork. In this Meetup, we'll look at what it takes to bring all the elements together utilizing Istio, Kubernetes, and even Helm. This will include best practices, a little humor, and demos.
Talk 1: Istio 0.8 update, and Application Policy demo
As Istio moves closer to the 1.0 release, let's do a quick review of the recent 0.8 release. Meanwhile, the Istio community continues to gain momentum with increasing features and capabilities integrating with the platform. Karthik will demo Application Policy with Istio and how you can leverage it for integrated security with your applications incorporating cryptographic identities and network layer attributes.
Speaker Bio: Karthik Prabhakar is the Director of Solution Architecture at Tigera, where he helps customers with secure application connectivity designs leveraging various open source projects that Tigera maintains or is involved with (such as Project Calico, Flannel, CNI, Istio, etc.). Karthik has assisted in the architecture of numerous containerized and cloud infrastructure deployments at scale.
Talk 2: Istio Canary with Helm
We’ve seen canary with Kubernetes but how does it change when you bring in a package manager like Helm? In this demo/talk Dan will show how to think about packaged releases and show a working demo of how to make Canary a reality with a build, test, and helm deploy workflow. His tool of choice: Codefresh.
Speaker Bio: Dan Garfield is a full-stack engineer and VP of Marketing at Codefresh, a complete DevOps platform built for Kubernetes and Helm. He's an old-school cool hacker who used to run BBSes and now builds robotic chicken coops
