"Ride like a Cop" - SF Police Motorcycle Safety Clinic
Details
Hey Folks!
Here is a *free* training event offered by the SF Police motorcycle unit.
SFPD requires separate registration to attend. An RSVP here does NOT provide a slot in the class. Please read on.
My goal every year is to do a little training and focus on skill fundamentals. And this course provides an opportunity to dodge cones and run over the ones you don't like while becoming a better rider. A course like this offers low speed skills that translate into more general moto handling confidence. If you ever wanted to learn how to do one of those tight, smooth 1 1/2 lane police u-turns, this is where to learn. A very limited number of spaces are available, so register now before the class fills!
Register here - https://www.sanfranciscopolice.org/community/events/motorcycle-safety-class-2
Register early because no spaces can be reserved for the group, but I've been in contact with the officer organizing and he said our group has the best chance to get multiple people into the August session. There is a limit of 15 people per class, each student MUST make their own individual class reservation. And any future people who notify me that they have an SFPD class registration and confirmation, I will move from the wait-list to the 'going' list. I urge folks who are interested, to register with SFPD and if are confirmed, let me know.
When you register, please put in the comments that you heard about it from "SF Bay Area Moto Meetup".
Course and practice techniques such as:
- Crash Avoidance Drills
- Emergency Maneuvers
- Going Slow with Control
- Proper Braking
- Turning Techniques
- Urban Riding Drills
These classes are limited to 15 students (total, not just our group) and require the following items to participate:
- M1 Endorsement
- Proper Riding Gear
- Registered and Insured Motorcycle
Afterwards we may do a late ride or late lunch depending on interest. Please put a comment in the comments section if interested.
