Description:
Essbase report scripts have always been workhorses for Essbase administrators, but do not enjoy the same level of prevalence in the Oracle Analytics Cloud. In their place, customers must use MDX. Although MDX has been around for many years, report script users had no real reason to rewrite existing scripts until now. In this session, we will compare report scripts to MDX, using examples to show how to convert several popular report script techniques to MDX. In addition, as MDX is designed around member sets and features many interesting functions for operating within those sets, we will explore several things MDX can do that report scripts cannot do.
