What we’re about

Humans are storytelling creatures. We’ve evolved to use stories to learn, connect, and empathize. Our stories help us navigate the ups and downs of life. Stories make us who we are.
That’s why when we get together to share and listen to our personal stories, there is magic in the air. As we come into the new phase of life post-COVID, we can all use more spaces to connect deeply with each other while sharing our stories.
The SF Bay Area Storytelling Meetup is a community for people who love the art and science of storytelling, and want to meet fellow storytellers to swap tales and further develop our craft. We are mainly focused on telling true, personal stories. But stories can come in many shapes and sizes, so all people with a passion for exploring the storytelling art form are welcome.
The SF Bay Area Storytelling Meetup is organized by Liz Morrison - a Strategic Storytelling consultant, workshop facilitator, and storytelling event host. Liz is on a mission to help organizations and individuals intentionally shape and share their stories to drive positive change. Her winding storytelling journey includes 15 years producing human-centered content for companies (Airbnb), campaigns (Obama 2012), causes (Idealist.org), and cable (Bravo, NatGeo, Discovery); sharing her own stories on stage at The Moth, Beyond Borders Storytelling, and About Last Night; and using tarot cards to guide introspective coaching sessions for individuals and groups.
