Using Deep Learning to solve Practical NLP problems

Details

Main Talk: Using Deep Learning to solve Practical NLP problems

Speaker: Samiur Rahman (Mattermark (http://mattermark.com/))

Abstract:

Deep Learning is is the hot "new" technique in the world of Machine Learning, but most of the published benefits of Deep Learning has been tied to audio and visual data. There are, however, significant benefits users can draw from Deep Learning, particularly in the area of unsupervised representation learning. This talk will focus on the practical applications of these techniques, particularly neural word embeddings. We will also explore how Mattermark uses these techniques to perform many ML and NLP tasks.

Lightning Talk: An Introduction to PredictionIO DASE Architecture with Spark MLlib

Speaker: Simon Chan (Prediction IO (http://prediction.io/))

Abstract:

PredictionIO is an open source machine learning server, and its latest version is built on Apache Spark and MLlib. The project ranks top on Github with over 5000 engaging developers. PredictionIO is designed for data scientists and developers to build predictive engines for real-world applications in a fraction of the time normally required. Simon will introduce the latest developments of PredictionIO, and show how to use it to build and deploy predictive engines in real production environments.
