Chiasm is a browser based runtime environment and plugin architecture for interactive data visualization. It allows plugins for data access, data transformation, and interactive visualization to be loaded and configured dynamically. Chiasm aims to abstract away some of the more difficult-to-implement 'wiring' necessary to create linked interactive data visualizations. Example interactions include dynamic visualization configuration (e.g. changing the column shown for the X or Y axis in a Scatter Plot, or changing the color of bars in a Bar Chart), hovering to select a point in time, and brushing to define a filter range for linked views. Visualizations supported so far include Scatter Plot, Line Chart, and Bar Chart. Chiasm is built on the foundation of Model.js, a library for creating interactive visualizations using patterns from functional reactive programming. For handling visualization of "Big Data", We are developing a system for data reduction using filtering, sampling and aggregation in conjunction with interactive visualizations.
