Can we scale up the Bitcoin protocol? With many advocating for the blocksize limit to be raised from its current 1MB, or even eliminated entirely, the question is what is the Bitcoin protocol capable of? Peter Todd will present two opposing views: that when viewed from the lens of standard database engineering scaling up Bitcoin is really easy, yet at the same time when viewed from the lens of security engineers trying to make secure systems scaling up Bitcoin is incredibly hard.
