SF Bitcoin Dev Seminar: Time and Bitcoin

Joseph Poon from the "Lightning Network (https://lightning.network/)" will give a talk about "Time and Bitcoin."

Bitcoin is, at its core, a timestamping system used to prove the order of transactions. Distributed data processing, including many existing financial systems, maintain data integrity using time locks. A survey of BIPs which allow one to enforce time-based contractual conditions on the Bitcoin blockchain is considered, as well as their interaction with off-blockchain Lightning Network transactions.
